Rear tail light and license plate light wont work

I took my 2012 F4R to go get state inspection and I hadnt even noticed the license plate light and the tail light do not work. If the brakes are applied the brake light works, but no running tail light. Could there be a correlation to these two not working? I checked all the fuses and they seem to be in good order. Any ideas? Thanks.

The ground wire or the supply wire is faulty.

Is it the same wire for the tail and license plate light? Or I'll need to check both? I just thought it was strange how they went out together, and very randomly. I have not changed anything back there.

I would have to do what you will have to do to check that. I don't have a2012 F4R at my disposal, but if I were to peruse the wiring diagram form the manual, I could tell that...or you could do that.

Looking at a wiring diagram for a 2010 F4, it appears that the tail light, stop light, license plate light and turn signals all derive their power from the same source.

Therefore, I would replace the bulbs that do not light.

So I plugged the connection for the license plate light into one of the blinkers, turned on the blinker and it worked. Then I plugged a blinker into the tail light connection turned on the blinker and it did not work. So it's definitely the connection for the tail light/license plate light
