Internal fuel pump hose

Coming home the other day my 750 F4 stalled at a set of light and would not start again. When troubleshooting this I found there was no fuel coming from the hose to the injector rail when the fuel pump ran, also when looking into the fuel filler I could see fuel swirling around as the pump ran. Going by the picture the PO had been into the fuel tank and replaced the hose with non submersible hose and not done the clamps up tight as the hose was off the top off the fuel filter. I couldn't find anything about this on the MV forum but apparently this is not so uncommon for Ducati's but they use Oetiker ear clamps

It is not uncommon for the fuel line to come off the top of the pump because it is not a barbed end. In addition to the clamp, I lock wired mine to the base.

There is a very long thread on this stuff. See my post midway down this page. You can pick up the gates internal hose at Repco.

Thanks Glenno
Have read some of that thread but did not get that far in. Lockwiring the hose sounds a good idea. I am a aircraft engineer and nearly everything on aircraft is lockwired

No worries, I'm in the aviation game (helicopters). Formerly defence then civilian EMS. What type do you work on?

West...this is a very common issue with the F4.

The correct spec hose is J30 R10 submersible.
