Brutale 750 - One cylinder not firing

Hello all,
Just had a breakdown on my 04 Brutale 750
Runs on three cylinders only at least from what my ears are telling me. The issue appeared suddenly whilst having a gentle ride. Bike runs but is barely rideable so i am just waiting for the trailer to arrive. Don't want to mess up the engine.
Mileage is 9000km
You guys have any suggestions on what to check first?
Any input is much appreciated.

Thank you in advance
Regards from the side of the road

Hi Georg, welcome to the forum.
Have you downloaded the manuals from my website yet ? Will you be working on the bike yourself ?
What's your service history, plug change etc ?

Had that a couple of times... So far always the sparkplug.
To identify the missing cilinder start up and spray some water on each header. You will find out which one is not hot. Exchange that plug to find out if that is really the problem. Is so change them all as you are busy anyway

Oh yeah. Take the iridiums. Never had it again.

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Yup, plugs / coils most of the time on the old bikes as Erik mentioned.

Cheers Donsy and Erik,
I've downloaded the manuals from your website even before I bought the bike in July this year
Yes, I'm working on the bike myself.
Cylinder 2 header stays stone cold while idling, so at least I could trace it down a little.
From service history of the previous owner the spark plugs have not been touched since the bike was born in Varese as it was sitting a lot.
Will give it a try with new plus next weekend, fingers crossed.

Wish you a good day
Georg

Thumbs up ?

Georg,
it's the spark plug......or the injector.....

1st Gen MVs fire/inject in pairs .....

switch the plug

inspect the plug on the injector.....the injectors connectors are VERY FRAGILE
