ECU interface on older F4

does anyone know the type of interface used on the 2009 and older F4. I am looking at a AiM display which states CAN/Serial (RS-232) interface connects to many ECU's. If this is not workable what should I be looking for?

Stock ecu or microtec? Newer motec stuff is very configurable, I can look into it a bit more if you're interested. I've got a digitek falcon for mine, if only for the period correct fancy pants tech look I'm after.

It should be ok George, I'm not sure which ECU you're getting now, so I would ask Chris to be honest.
