Sensor gear F4Y10 new, subjet "poltergeist"

Dear friends.
Subjet "poltergeist" jaja.
How is possible?
I have old sensor gear with damaged cables and reading OK but flashing on the dashboard and one new , exactly the same , it gives readings gears completely different, only is OK in neutral signal.
Why ?..I can't understand.
The installation is OK, only there is one way to fit...is strange.
I thought it was plug and play.
Any idea please?.. in Spain nobody has it.
Best regards
Jorge

Hi,
I'd start by checking the resistances on both sensors just to check you have the same thing.

If they read the same, then if you could explain how they differ. e.g. in 1st its says 5th etc..

good luck

Last time I had a sensor problem it was not the sensor at all but the connector block terminals.

Of course I discovered this after I paid out £ 80.00 or so for a new sensor I didn't need.
