Fault coil 4 - F4

Well, my great run after picking my bike up from repairs lasted - 2 hours.

This is a weird one. The bike is running as well as I remember - after a bit of high rev throat clearing was undertaken. It ran very nicely.

After a previous misfire they had replaced all four plugs. They did mention one of the coil leads appeared to have been stretched - as if someone tried to disconnect it with brute force rather than finesse. Not them, I might add.

Anyway, riding to work tonight and the 'fault coil 4' message flashed up. The bike is still running well and starting fine. I've read through most of thr searches to do with 'coil', but they all seem to also have starting or running issues, whereas mine is currently sweet as.

Is the coil going to die on me? Should I take it back again?

Sounds like it already has died ...When the wires get hot the resistance increases so it may have run better cold and the fault shown up later.

Given the availability of good used parts out there Id replace the coil...most likely as you say the wires have been pulled.

And a good used coil isnt big bucks either.

Ive got spare coils and maybe someone down under has some too
