How to remove nut on exhaust valve

Hi,

So I bought a QD exhaust & although it doesnt have the valve inside it does have the spindle to attach & 'keep tidy' the actuator cables.

My question is... Any tips for how to remove the (rotating) nut holding the valve actuator spring & gubbins on... Like in this (hijacked from another thread) picture...

Looks to me like the shaft has 2 flats machined into it, you can hold the shaft with a spanner on these flats and loosen the nut with another spanner?

Also don't forget to flatten the lock washer that is holding the nut.

Thanks... Just managed to get another spanner on the end - enough to loosen

I've got the QD exhaust on my bike and it is great.I removed the actuator cables and motor then replaced it with Healtech Electronics Exhaust Servo Eliminator from Blue Monkey Motorsports. Just plug it into the servo motor wire harness and you are done.

Interesting... As I don't know much about this stuff, apart from weight saving? and more time, effort & cash, what would adding this Healtech gadget do for me?

Why I put the Healtech Servo on the bike is I removed the actuator cables mount on the QD exhaust to clean up the pipe, then I wrapped the exhaust with Titanium Motorcycle Header and Exhaust Wrap.Reason why the rear brake master cylinder is next to the catalytic converter and it hot down there and over time the rear brake fade out.I also relocated the rear brake reservoir to the rear tail section.It's been 4 months now since I did it and the rear brake have not faded.
