Big bang from under the tank on 2013 F4

Hey guys and Gals
I have a strange one for you all
My 2013 F41000 makes this horrendous bang from somewhere under the tank. It feels like someone is bashing the Tank with a Rubber Mallet when decelerating.. This has been going on for quite some time but I have finally decided to throw the question out there as it really is an uncomfortable feeling.....

Is this the engine backfiring through the velocity stacks?
Has this happened to anyone else?
Is it a common thing to happen?
SHOULD I BE WORRIED ABOUT IT???

Could be possibly be something else???

Any THEORY would be good.....

Thanks for all the previous and current help
Clay

Without being there in person, it's hard to really imagine what's going on. But I'd suspect back firing like you already have. Has this problem just started? Is the air box in stock form, or is it gutted? How many km are you at and has this bike been tuned up?

It's probably coming back up the stack, probably to do with the new pipes and you eliminator Clayton.

Thanks for the replies guys
This Big Bang has been happening for about a year and a half even when the bike was stock standard. It seems to happen a little more now with the new pipes
I know I have been a bit slow in posting about it
I am just wondering if I should be worried at all (fire hazard etc)

Nah, not a fire hazard but an indication that it needs some tuning.

It mainly happens around town when the bike is super hot.

Thanks Dons :-)

Just to complete this old topic
Donsy was right, it was the engine backfiring back through the velocity stacks.
I recently had my bike's ECU remapped and the issue is fixed and the bike is so different and a pleasure to ride. Even around town and now runs cooler

Thank you again Donsy
