leaking gas tank

My gas tank is leaking from the drain bolt. My tank has a hollowed threaded center piece and a locking nut around it. Cannot stop it from leaking through the hollow core. Can I just replace it with a solid bolt to seal it?

This happened to my yesterday. I removed the carbon filter from inside the tank, followed the instructions in Donsy's giant fuel line post:
http://www.mvagusta.net/forum/showth...ight=fuel+pump

...and I used the original hose to connect to the drain temporarily until I got some new hose.

The old hose ripped right at the connection and gas went everywhere.

Yep...part of the evap emissions system. You can plug it if the evap system has been removed and the cap vented to atmosphere instead of through the can and hollow drain bolt internal spigot.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Thumbs up ?

Ed;

Rich has failing lines in the tank he needs to address that.....

Rich;

Go to page K02 of the F4 parts manual

You want to connect the two ports under the cap to fitting #8

You'll need new line, a wye, 3 clamps and some JB Weld Kwik

You'll need the epoxy to plug the 2 ports in the fuel pump plate on the inside and the 3

notches next to the fuel pump plate mounting studs

Simple No?

My canister got flooded because I leaned my tank over with fuel in it while fixing my air box.

This is my current set up, #8?

Can I just connect the hose going from gas cap to canister to the hose going from canister to bottom of tank with connector? Remove hose to drain and plug drain port off.
What connects to the port going to 4 cylinder ports or are they blocked off?
