air filter

My first post. Had the f4s 750 for about two weeks now and starting to get the parts together to service it. Is there any real difference between a bmc and dna air filter? any recomendations?
Thx Roy

Welcome!

Here are some photos and comparisons between the two. Since we sell both you should not think that we are trying to be biased. These are just our observations and you can form your own opinions.

BMC Race filter for the MV Agusta F4 vs DNA.
It is much thinner than the DNA and the frame is much less rigid. The orientation and number of pleats seem to indicate that there is considerably less surface area for filtration than the DNA. The pleated areas also seem to be much thinner indicating that there are less layers of gauze in the filter. This filter also uses the the stock filter cage which the DNA does not.

The DNA is much thicker and the frame is more rigid. It is a drop in fit and does not use the stock filter cage I believe. DNA uses 4 layers of cotton gauze as opposed to BMC's two. No gaskets required.

Please keep in mind the basic principals of airflow vs filtration and finding the best balance. You have to decide which is more important to you.

Here are some pic. The BMC is the red filter.

Many thanks for the info and pictures. I'll probably go with the DNA and see what it's like.
Thx
