Flakey Engine Paint

Sorry if this is the wrong section for this. If it is can an Admin send me to the correct location please.

Having given the Brute a bit a wash I noticed that there is a lot of paint flaking off the engine case in places. Is there anything I can do to repair this, stop it getting worse, that doesn't involve stripping everything apart to have it repainted completely. I wondered if there was a way I could scrub the affected areas down with scotchbrite and apply some enamel paint, if I knew they correct colour to get.

hey Cal, if you can match the color you might be able to paint. I know on one of my jap bikes the case covers were aluminum so I used a zinc chromate primer and a metal flake top coat. was surprised how good it came out. good luck
