BMC or DNA?

What's all the talk about DNA air filters? Are they superior to BMC?

If so, what are the differences, advantages, etc...? Anyone know this?

DNA uses from what I can tell, nylon 6 for the filter frames. This stuff is very rigid compared to the rubber used in BMC. It provides for a better fit and seal without the deformation that sometimes occurs whe subjected to diferential pressures.

Interestingly I found a review comparing all of them including the BMC and DNA and the DNA actually ranked higher in terms of effective filtration (DNA 98% vs BMC 96%) while still maintaining excellent flow rates. BMC actually is third behind DNA and K&N.

Here is the link:

The BMC is a little messy to fit as you need to fit it into your old frame with a little cutting and sticking of pieces of foam here and there. The DNA is a purpose built complete cartridge that replaces the original filter in one easy unit.

I sold my BMC and bought a DNA...............

Thanks for the original post of this subject and to Vlad Drac as to where to get one.

I had searched their site a few weeks back and it had said out of stock for quite some time. I sent an e-mail to Roland at Motovation and he said they had them in stock and changed to reflect this on the website.

Ordered it that day and they Fed Ex guy just dropped it off to me about 45 minutes ago.

Woo Hoo!!!!
