Racing section on its way

Hi MV enthusiasts,

I've been spending a bit of time thinking this racing section through. I've begun slowly coding it piece by piece. I am incorporating a lot of AJAX into it. For those unfamiliar with AJAX, it basically allows you to update portions of a site without refreshing the entire page. Regardless, it should be supported by most browsers for the past handful of years. (Yahoo uses it on their front page to dynamically update the page with the world/local news tabs and featured stories to not load a different page).

I've been coding the calendar for the site. It incorporates AJAX by allowing you to browse through the months without needing to refresh the page . This calendar will hold a lot of events. Events will be highlighted on the calendar with a red box. Much of it is NOT functional yet so no need to cry out if there is a broken link (most likely, MANY).

Hopefully i'll continue to bring updates soon. There is a LOT to come for it.

With my hands in AJAX technology, i'll probably be using it for other parts of the site should be interesting.

-Alvin

Hey Kalden! How are you doing? And welcome here!

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

Hey hey,

It took me some time to get here....
I was on the mvagusta.net Mailing List, back in june 2005. But work kept me from riding my bike most of the time, and I lost contact with a lot of people.

So...here I am...back...and here to stay.

Send you a pm btw befor I read this post.

Racing section update:

As seen posted on the front page, racing team registration is now open. Registration for some teams have already been received and are currently being processed! I have sent e-mails to you guys, and am awaiting response.

Teams are able to POST and MANAGE blog entries, POST and MANAGE calendar events, and POST and MANAGE press releases. Press releases are similar to blogs except that there is an added option to upload an official file to accompany the press release (such as the official PDF press release document, etc).

You will also be able to see a team profile by clicking on the team on the right column. Of course we're waiting to get teams setup right now so it will be a bit before you see that list expand further than the MVAgusta.net test team . Team profiles will show the list of upcoming events, blog entries, and press releases for that team. It will also show some profile information and such.

More to come: Team photo album, other team media (videos/sound clips), and anything else I can pull out of my hat.

Let me know if you guys have any comments/suggestions

Thumbs up

Thanks for all your hard work Alvin.

This site just keeps getting better and I hope that all the Race teams take advantage of the Racing section. It will be a great resource for all MV fans.
