Introduction and question Rivale

Hello Everyone!

My name is Peter and I'm from The Netherlands. Last weekend I have bought a 2016 Rivale with only 4.500km on it. The bike looks brand new

I would like to remove the handguards and replace it with some Rizoma blinkers and other (Rizoma or CNC) bar end mirrors. I already disassambled the hadguards but I can't install other bar end mirrors yet, because there are some steel things (plugs/bolts, give it a name) in the bar end. Do I need to to grind these of? Or is there another way to remove these things?

Thanks!

Peter

Welcome to the family !! and a nice bike.

I haven't had opportunity to study the Rivale but I know some other forum members have done just what you want to do. A search may reveal threads with your answer.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Hi welcome to the forum, From a fellow rivale owner !

I replaced the bar ends with Rizoma Tomoks on mine, had to extend them, check out the threads below, I believe they look great and are simple to fit. Just google Rivale mirror mounts.

Thanks Kevin!

I have had the pleasure to go out for 2 rides now. Like you said, it's such a fun bike to ride! Apart from the engine It feels a bit like the Superduke 990 I owned some years ago.

Those mirrors look good Stevestobo! You only removed the mirrors from the handguards, right?

What I would like to do is to remove the complete handguards. What's left after removing these guards are some steel things (plugs/bolts, give it a name) in the bar end. These steel ends are so tight that I'm not sure if these things are part of the steer or that they are screwed in.

Kevin already showed me a technical drawing of the steer. It seems like they are removable by screwing them out. So I will try that again later this week with some more force.
