was mv a scapegoat for proton?

the more i read about the sale of mv to gevi, the more i am convinced that proton's ills were NOT from mv alone.

check out this article from cycle news:

seems to me that mv is going in the right direction. sales are up. the books are full of orders, and new products are being developed.

my opinion is that proton was in deep sh-t, and needed to shed the non-core assets fast. mv, which has a promising future, still needs capital for continued product development. proton is not in a position to be spending money on things that don't directly impact its core business.

my guess is that some people at proton felt that by shedding mv, they could hang their recent problems around the italian company as well. i'll bet that proton has a LOT more trouble ahead. and they won't have mv to blame it on now.

I have to agree. Seems like MV has a real promising future..and I hope it stays that way. Although we will never know what really happened, Proton definately has some more fixing to do
