If you want to know a bit more about me.

This post is a result of John's appeal to introduce ourselves.

As you may noticed I'm quite new to this forum and spend a lot of time reading other posts.
I have a Brutale 750 S since 2003. I fell in love immediate when pics of that bike turned up in magazines. Only disadvantage was that the Brutale was hard to obtain because there was a waiting list of people who had preordered one. But luck was on my side and after a short time I found one at a dealer.
Meanwhile I sold my previous bike, a BMW R1100S.
All those years I really enjoyed riding my Brutale.
As Belgian roads are overcrowded and exceeding the speed limit costs the earth, I thoroughly enjoy my bike at trackdays in Belgium, France and The Netherlands.
I also retain good memories of trips to Austria and France.

Mods on my bike are :
- CRC rear hugger
- BMC air filter
- eprom made by www.citymoto.be
- frameprotectors and wheelprotectors by CSC Mototechnik (great stuff)

Small maintenance is done by myself. I'm not a boffin but I manage to do what I want. If not, I obtain expert advice at this board.

Newbie here also - my new 910S is supposed to arrive (Tampa) today or early next week. I'm retired and have been riding (never without a bike) for the last 35 years and have averaged a little over 40,000 miles per year for the last 8 years. We summer in motorcycle heaven, the Missouri-Arkansas Ozarks, and winter in Florida. I currently have 9 bikes, all were purchased new by me including the Moto Guzzi that I purchased in Milan in 75:

75 Moto Guzzi 850T 58,000 miles
98 Honda Valk 53,000 miles
00 BMW K1200LT 101,800 miles
03 VStrom 1000 32,500 miles
04 BMW R1150RS 28,500 miles
06 Honda ST1300A 14,500 miles
06 Kaw ZX-6R 3,100 miles
06 Suziki SV650 1,500 miles
06 MV Brutale 910S

Two of my previous "favorite" bikes in the past were a Yamaha FZ1 (Fazer)that I put about 45,000 miles on and a Suzuki Bandit with about 35,000 so I was looking for a naked bike when I purchsed the Brutale. I tend to be a lurker and so far have really enjoyed reading posts.

One question: what's the story on the FAQ and Article sections I've been getting that they haven't been available since I joined?

Welcome. I always enjoy reading posts from new members as I find everyone has a unique and interesting story.

Looking at your list, I see '06 was a busy year for you. You're going to fit in just fine here.

Welcome again and nice you are here!

What a beast of a motorcycle!
It growls and rages and flies across the tarmac like a wild animal that has escaped the confinement of a cage and after merely waiting restlessly until the release, will not endure being locked up ever again.

Skye I miss you. L'essentiel est invisible pour les yeux.

Hello, my name is Kirk and I am a bike-aholic. I have been bike free for 7 days, 11 hours. !!! I remember sneaking my first bike when I was just a young lad. I thought my dad would never know. One night I was out biking all night and I came in after curfew, and my dad was up waiting for me. "You've been out biking!" he said. I told him that I would swear off biking forever! Alas, it was an empty promise, as the addiction took a hold of me and would not let me go. I have lost wives, jobs and money due to my biking addiction. Thank you all for being supportive. If I weren't in here, I might have gone out biking tonight. One day at a time.
