Hanging monkeys I think not, friendly bunch us lot.
You will get it cheaper from the US mate, don't know why there is such a gulf in price though. Best bet is to find the part in the UK then get it shipped across from the US.

never purchased from abroad not sure of postage set ups and things or payment process

not sure of the shipping you mention either.

Here you go - http://www.designcorse.co.uk/ have a look in the Marketplace Section, you will find all the forum suppliers there, and their sites will let you know what shipping cost's are.

If you want quality Carbon in UK..Mark at Timemachine is the man. If you want cheap..there is ebay..
