how to identify the viper?

well i just got offered a blue and silver MV agusta today and surprisingly the color scheme looks just like a viper's (remember the limited production of 50 kits?)

my question is - how do i identify whether it's a genuine viper kit or a just a paint/sticker job?

can any of the MV gurus help me here?

Anything that is plastic on the normal bikes is carbon fiber on the viper. With the exception of the airbox, I believe. Also, the tank which is usually metal, is CF.

All MV Corse carbon fiber will have a decal on the back of it, under the clear coat/resin. Look for a red sticker that says MV Corse or a rectangular white one that says Carbon Composit.

Mv sp01 viper info

Here's a good bit of info... http://www.motorcyclespecs.co.za/mod...ta_f4_sp01.htm

A SP01 Viper should have a few documents with it and a special plate on the steering yoke

Here's my bike (regular Mv production model) that resembles a SP01 Viper kit

Hope this helps you

And welcome. Funny to see that on a South African site (.co.za), right about the time I saw my first F4, and just before coming to Australia.

The viper kit was made during the 750 production, but it will fit on any year through 2009.
