Will the 1000R be sold out this year??

One article on here stated there would be 490 of the R models arriving in the US this year. Do you guys think they will be sold out and if so when. I was looking at picking mine up this spring since I will not be able to ride it all winter.

i would honestly be surprised if 500 Rs were sold out in the US
at 23K... and very little discount available... in this HORRIBLE US economy at this current moment in time....

IMHO... there will be plenty left in the spring
i truly believe the bike is well worth the money.... but, there are other "factors" at work here

Andrew,

I doubt they will be sold out. They have already been filtering into the USA since mid summer without long wait lists

I'd read somewhere that only 490 for the states, 10 less than the market needs so as to keep the brand in demand?
All first Aus shipment sold out!

i wasn't getting into a political discussion...
forget the stock market
talk to people and how they are "getting along" financially...

all businesses are suffering at the moment
the housing market is in the worst shape nationally in 100 years...

believe what YOU like about the economy...
but, when Walmart starts having losses... i think that pretty much illustrates my point

i'm not talking about RICH people making money...
i'm talking about the "common" man and HIS struggle to stay afloat

thus endeth any politics on this site...

I'm also inclined to say most likely not, but then Cagiva USA sold out of several models of desireable Husqvarnas last year resulting in many many people left with the desire and full wallets but empty hands!

Not to cause an argument, but I think the "common man" isn't going to be getting an MV Greg... I've made some money (not a lot, but some) recently in the market, and I'm not anyone rich. I'm just a dude with his priorities out of line (according to the wife).

My dealer has 2 1000R bikes right now. He also has an '03 EVO3 750 as well. A few Brutales, an '05 1000S... They aren't exactly flying off the floor, but Tucson isn't a huge market either. I don't know of any MV "consumers" in town because all of us (all both of us? heh) already have bikes...
