MSC Clara - bikes coming to Australia
Hi Everyone,
OK. Heres the latest news. The MVAgusta bikes are on the way.
The bikes are due to arrive in Australia (Melbourne Port?) on the 22nd February (or thereabouts weather permitting).
Customs should not take too long as the bikes are already compliant - from what I have been told.
The details of the ship are:
Name: MSC Clara (formerly called Cosco Lian Yung Fang)
Ship Type: Cargo - Hazard D (Recognizable)
Year Built: 1986
Length x Breadth: 244 m X 32 m
DeadWeight: 43567 t
Speed recorded (Max / Average): 15.9 / 15.9 knots
Call Sign: 3EST
IMO: 8511304, MMSI: 370414000
If you google "ship tracking" you can get an idea of where the ship is.....
(Disclaimer: Due to earlier reports of "the bikes are on the way" and "they will be here in late Dec, early Jan, mid Jan, etc...", I take no responsibility if the bikes are late....OR they don't arrive at all !!!)
LOL...
I put my MVAgusta suit on every 2nd day !:smoking:
And I wear my Dainese suit the other day (LOL).
Wear my helmet to bed!:yo:
My boots and gloves will be here in about a week...
This bike better turn up, or there will be a fire sale on near new riding gear at the end of Feb !:jsm:

getec, when I got my new MV.With the run in period I would get home after 10 hours work have a shower and go for a ride at night,I just couldnt stay off it,they are just great machines,Mitch.:yo:
Looks like the bikes may have already arrived in Melbourne on Tuesday 22Feb11 - possibly on another ship - owned by the same shipping company and is now in Customs...opcorn:opcorn:opcorn:opcorn:
Talked to a salesman today at Stevens.
They are supposed to be here, waiting customs clerance?
Hopefully 1 week at best, but maybe more.
Looks like Stevens sold most of he's bikes.
Might be 1 or 2 left with a big maybe.
Bikes have passed Customs Inspection in Australia and have arrived at MVAgusta Importer in Melbourne. They are currently (as of this minute) being unpacked from shipping containers, inventoried and entered into the importer's systems and will be freighted very soon to dealers across Australia (eta next week).

Seems like you are a little bit excited, just hope the truck doesnt roll over when transporting, only joking, boy o boy they have been a long time coming,Mitch.
I have a feeling I'm going to miss out on a look. Just curious. All are nearly presold (so I gather), and I'd say whats left, will move off the floor pretty quickly, before I get time to get to a dealer anyway.
No,No city riding is not good for running in,sitting at traffic lights and puttering along, not good please don't do it,get out of Sydney to country roads you know corners and rolling on throttle for uphill runs, that sort of stuff, good for running in,and don't forget not to baby it put some load on the motor you won't regret it,Mitch.
I love how you truly care Mitchy ! :yo: You are absolutely correct. What I meant was that I will use it for riding around first and then take it to the track once I can increase the revs...about a week to go if everything goes ok....opcorn:it will be just under 4 months ago that I paid upfront for the bike....it's been the longest 4 months !
Thats the way I do it, get it in the hills, on and off the throttle, no constant throttle, but dont flog it till the 1000k service. After that it is time to cane it...:f4:
When I ordered a new Triumph Daytona 955i ages ago I had to wait 3 weeks, I couldnt sleep,I was like a Zombie, all I was thinking about was the bike and howmany days to go. But 4 months shit I feel for you but you are almost there,Mitch.
What makes the wait even more difficult is seeing all the magnificent bikes on this MVAgusta.net site and then reading all the wonderful stories that fellow members write about....only about 1 week to go...:smoking: Once I get the bike I will be very keen to join any other members that are going for rides around Sydney (old pacific hwy, blue mountains etc...)
