Just got back from Cafe Desmo. The wife and I had a blast! The whole event was just awesome. Met a lot of people, a lot of compliments on the bike, which is always nice.

The only complaint I have is the bike show was a fucking joke! They had 1 judge per category and the judge for the Superbike class was a old man in his 70's that skimmed over anything that didnt have Ducati writen on it. He spent no more than 5 seconds on each bike and wrote down 3 pieces of info per bike. Then they just gave the prizes as they saw fit! Even a Pro Italia employee won a first place price........:wtf: Will not take my bike to their show again!

Other than that, everything els was very fun. Only 3 MV's in the bike show, all F4's. Wish we had a bigger turnout. There were a bunch of MV's that did the ride but were not in the show (guess now I know why......)

The ride up the Crest was amazing, I mean we had Police escorts and we got to run every stop sign on the way to Newcomb's Ranch, and they bike cops kept a very fast pace not slowing us down :D I even had a CHP officer in a car behind me tell me "you are going too slow, speed up or let me pass!" I was way over the speed limit too, I just didnt want to push my luck, but that comment changed that real quick :D

The concert at the Ranch was pretty good, the band was not half bad. The same could not be said for the sandwitches though...

Anyway, here are some pics from today

An industrial designer in LA (Adrian Van Anz) - under Derringer Cycles. I have one. A hybrid Indian Board Track replica with a 50cc 4-stroke Honda engine and one gear pedal power. Not particularly practical (20-30mph), but a great design and lots of fun. They are essentially customs - everyone is a little different. You can see lots of variations on his website.

LOL, funny you should say that because when she got off the bike my wife said "Check the seat, she might have left a wet spot"

Thanks for pointing that out Harvey, for a moment I thought it was the dingle arm that wasnt closing all the way.

Cafe Desmo has always been about the hang...the Bike Show is a bit of a dog & pony show (nod nod wink wink) and it's always been taken as such. The ride was fantastic and turned out extremely well for it's first year...I'm sure we'll see it grow moving forward. Here's what Newcombs looked like...never seen it that crowded. Everybody seemed to have a great time...and the ride tempo was very quick (for an org ride) but not nutty.

Sorry to hear about the ticket Steve, I guess the wife and I got lucky. We passed by a bunch of cops going home, they were too busy raping other bikers to pull us over.

I saw at least 6 bike cops writing tickets to others on bikes, some had pulled over 3-4 bikes at once and all were being writen up. It wasnt pretty.
