Rackin on the miles

After payin my dues for a DUI last spring I'm finally getting to put some miles on my MV with the 1000R in it.
I was expecting some uncontrollable beast when I rolled it out on the street the first time, man was I disappointed. I do have a few questions that I'm sure will get answered. Here they go. . . .

1) Is this thing always going to run like shit between 4 and 5,000 ?

2) Will it always run hot ? the fans don't come on till 205 degrees

3) Why in the hell does my front end bottom out when I come out of a wheelie ?

4) Is 26mpg the best this bike this bike has to offer ? The 750 averaged 41-44

5) Whos idea was it to have a superbike idle at 2000 rpm's ?

These are just some of the questions I've got for now. The 1000 is no 750. The 750 was so much smoother.. it ideled good and I never had to put a impeller in it. It was flawless through out the throttle with out the turbo like take off at 5,000. Not to mention the 750 wouldn't hardly wheelie, it just hooked up. The 1000 wants to stand up whenever it feels like it. This 1000 is really heavy too the bike dosn't handle like the old girl did before.

What have I done to my perfect little 750 ? ? ? ?

Not if you get it tuned properly

2) Will it always run hot ? the fans don't come on till 205 degrees
205 F is not overheating...Suzuki fans come on at 210

3) Why in the hell does my front end bottom out when I come out of a wheelie ?
Because you are not very smooth...learn how to wheelie without slamming the front down.

4) Is 26mpg the best this bike this bike has to offer ? The 750 averaged 41-44
See #1...but don't expect much better then 30~35 tops.

5) Whos idea was it to have a superbike idle at 2000 rpm's ?
See #1....idle should be closer to 1200~1300

You've been seduced by the quest for more horsepower and torque.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Sounds like your bike could use a Microtec ECU from X-Bikes.

Oh and wheelie? Really?

fill that front wheel up with water or lead shot and it won't wheelie as much...

If at first you don't succeed, use a hammer instead
