New to MV in Missouri

Was lucky enought to receive a 2009 F4 1078 and it is fantastic. Beginning to understand the excellent commentary on this forum read over last couple years. My question concerns service: no local MV dealers (or even non-local with one an hour and half away no longer carrying line). SO, first are there any St. Louis MV ownerswho know of local mech who has demonstrated skills working on bikes, and what mightbe the servicing I should get my bike to Chicago to complete? Regular trips to Chicago are impractical at best. Thanks for advice

Hey K-D, congrats on the purchase of the F4. I live in STL and bought an '06 Brutale in February. I had to get a new rear tire about a month ago. I ended up taking it to Motorrad (www.motorradstl.com), which is in south St. Louis city. I originally took it to Donelson Cycles on St. Louis Rock Road, but they couldn't get the rear wheel off. I believe that's a common problem, although in this case it was ridiculous- Motorrad spent quite a few hours and broke a couple of cheater bars in getting it off. They ended up using dry ice to cool it, then heated it up, and finally were able to break it loose. Anyway, overall I was very impressed- they seemed knowledgeable overall, and downloaded the shop manual for the Brutale and also called an MV dealer for advice. I think in general Donelson would be a good choice also- they're a Ducati dealer and have been around for about 40 years. But at this point Motorrad has earned my business. Hope this helps- enjoy the F4!

Ok ... i'll be helpful. Those first few guys who said they're of no help are actually very knowledgable , obliging and friendly as you'll discover for yourself with time spent here.

Ask all the questions you want and your answers will be quick and true.

Welcome and congrats on the new wheels, enjoy!
