MV Agusta = SUPERBRAND

Nice article...I know that for each of us, it makes perfect sense, but even better to hear Brand Aficionado's recognise the fact that MV Agusta is a very cool brand!

Motorcycle News

MV Agusta was declared "Cool Brand 2010" within the program planned by the English company Superbrands. What was the objective? To identify the trendy brands according to the perception of consumers and opinion leaders.

In the fourth edition of the competition, MV Agusta was deemed as the trendiest brand in the two-wheeled market.

MV Agusta is the most exclusive brand for excellence, highlighted by the most prestigious awards and by the achievement of 75 World Championship titles.

It is not only a great company but a myth travelling on two wheels riding into future and creating great enthusiasm among the most demanding motorcyclists thanks to bikes of extraordinary performance, real works of art of design and technology.

For this reason MV Agusta is "Cool Brand 2010". Starting from an initial list of 1.000 brands, the "coolest" brands are subject to a popular vote through our website and various media circuits.

The most well-known brands are chosen by the influential Cool Brands Council, the committee composed of marketing, communication, press, and artistic leading characters. MV means desire, exclusivity, innovation, technique and trends.

"Cool Brands Council"..... i wonder if you actually have to be cool to be on it, or do these people just know things about what's cool?

Actually, all smartness aside - they are actually a very credible and impressive panel. Branding is my world, and when the Coke brand is worth $80 bn on the balance sheet (an accepted valuation by the market), then brand is a serious business.

I can guarantee you this award will be put on the table in the negotations with the new buyer - you better believe it!

Does sound cool though...how can we get ourselves on that pannel??

I don't know about you, but Im sick of explaining that an MV Agusta is really quite good to the non-bikies. If I say Harley or Ducati they think the bike is amazing even though it could be (and sometimes is) a piece of crap.

MV need some advertising to become a 'famously' cool brand.

...(on second thoughts though, the fact MV are quite low key does keep a lot of the pure posers at the ducati showrooms leaving all the MV's for us to buy at cut price)...

I love ducati's too by the way. But not all of them.

Tell them, "It's so cool, you've never even heard of it. It's what the Veyron is to a Modena. You've heard of the Veyron, right?" Of course, you have to say this in a very cool way too.

Speaking of the Bugatti, you'll like this story. Today I was talking to a Mercedes specialist working on my wife's SL55. He does high end electronic work on very high end vehicles.

Apparently there is one (1) Veyron in Georgia that belongs to a newly minted billionare. The guy paid $1.6 M for the car. It costs him over $200K per year to operate it. The local ad valorem tax is $75K, the insurance is $50K, etc, etc. Apparently the guy drives the car every day, as it has 13k miles on it.

The front valence is damaged due to a parking lot curb. Bugatti wants $175K for a new nose piece. The guy has chosen not to replace the damaged nose on the basis that it'll just get damaged again anyway.

1001 horsepower aside, the car's ugly in my book, and therefore not at all cool.

910R, S4RS Monster,'78 BMW R100S, Heritage Softail, Chrome V-Rod, Sportster 48, Kawasaki Concours 1400, '07 Ultra Classic with sidecar, yellow Vespa LX 150, a cool little Ruckus, and a very understanding wife........

The Veyron is not the most beautiful car in the world, it looks a bit like a squashed bug to me, but I do admire the engineering and overall design work that has gone into it. I wonder if you'd notice the extra one horsepower if you were driving it with the first thousand ponies unleashed??

I do think the F4 is the most beautiful bike in the world however.
