My First Ride in the Rain - Gear Counts!

As a not quite two week long owner of a Brutale, I had the opportunity to ride in the rain today. Frankly, I'm impressed with the bike. Given all the power in the engine, and the rather abrupt delivery of that power with a twitchy throttle, I was concerned that I'd have trouble in the rain. Glad to say, I didn't.

The bike rode great, very confidence inspiring, no drama. One thing that did help was the gear. As a "geezer" I'm a ATGATT rider and my gear of choice is the Aerostich Roadcrafter Hi-Viz one piece suit. Yep, at my size I look like a deformed Pillsbury dough boy, but I was comfortable and dry, unlike a lot of other riders who were rushing home as the rain got heavier and heavier. The Lee Parks gloves are great, but I think I should invest in a set of rain gloves as well.

Can't say enough about the Brutale - very impressed after two weeks. I've made an appointment to change all the fluids, and to give the machine the attention it needs - tuneup, etc. No mods yet, and not planning to go that route, but I do want to address the rear view mirrors (not much of a view rearward), and get the suspension set properly. I'll have the dealer help with all of that.

Thank again to all on this forum. In the space of a few weeks I went from knowing nothing about the brand (except how beautiful the bikes look) to having enough information to complete my Brutale purchase with confidence in my decision.

"When in doubt - hit the throttle, you'll either solve the problem or remove the suspense."

Cool..glad you enjoyed it.
I never took my MV into the rain...I'm always paranoid of having this impressing that as if I'm driving on ice..

Just a thought of laying down my MV horrifies me!!!
