Has it happened to you?

Hello all

Went to the dealers on Saturday to look at my newly uncrated Dragster RC and low an behold, there was no number plaque (XXX/250). So it would appear that they have built an RC at the factory and forgot to put one of the most important parts (IMO) on the bike. So it looks as if my bike will be delivered on Monday with bits missing.

Have you had a brand new MV Agusta delivered with things missing?

Dealers sometimes hold back stuff to sell for extra profit....like the charger. My dealer absconded with the cover that should have come with my bike.....

But...the number plaque should be applied from the factory...... I would email the factory and ask them about your VIN and if it should have a plaque.
Are you getting the wood box with the exhaust and other goodies that come with a RC????

Are you sure you are buying an actual RC?

I would not accept delivery if it doesn't have the number plaque.

I've gotten to the point in my life that theft/dishonesty of any kind isn't tolerated. Withhold a $10 part? I'll tank the sale.

They call them stealorships for a reason.

Bloody hell, 'X'. You've had a long run of difficulties with these purchases.

Something just doesn't seem right because MV quality control would surely pick up a missing plaque. It would also have to be checked off on the production job sheet. As @esq'z me alludes (without treating you like an idiot) is it possible it's not an RC? I had been shafted by a local MV dealer (out of your area) so my element of trust is not great.

I have had excellent service and response time from contacting MV Agusta direct. You might consider taking your query direct to them for a definitive answer: [email protected]

Its simple. If it doesnt have a plaque it isnt an RC version.
Its a dragster with RC fairings.

The plaque is what makes it a legit RC.
In my opinion ofcourse.

You pay 4-5k more than a normal dragster. Dont accept it the way it is.
As mentioned before, make your dealer get that plaque AND email MV themself.

Thank you for your replies.

I too am very sceptical about the whole thing. This has been a bit of a 'mare' from the beggining (as some of you may be aware, with my posts).

I have just emailed MV to ask if they have delivered a MY19 Dragster RC to the dealership in the last week or so and also asked if the dealership has been in conact about getting a plaque (as they have siad they have, to me).

Hopefully MV will get back to me and all will be OK.

I shall keep you posted.

It's not just the plaque. An RC version of any MV comes with a wooden display box of performance add-ons.

Do you see the box?

All is good

MV have confirmed (using the VIN), that indeed my new bike is a Dragster RC built in February 2019. They have also confirmed that the plaque was left off, as the supplier of the plaque has had issues. Rather than delay the delivery of the bike, they sent the bike without the plaque (shame they did not tell the dealer). New plaque expected in a few weeks.

'Hats off' to MV, in how quick they dealt with my email inquiry. All done a dusted in 3 hours. 'Top blokes' (and Ladies, I am sure).

To answer the questions about the RC display box of goodies. The dealer had offered to show it to me, but I declined, as I did not want to spoil the surprise on the delivery day (hopefully all the bits will be there?). What I would expect to see in the box is a unique numbered manual, exhaust (with fittings), bolt on remap box (excuse the lack of terminology), a tailored bike cover, a mirrored unique numbered plaque...anything else?

Based on today's proceedings, I have paid the balance due to the dealer and now hopefully all will go well with the delivery on Monday. Once I get the tail tidy sorted out and weather permitting, I will post some pictures of the two new thoroughbreds that have joined our stable.
