So I dumped my bike today

Finally a day off where it isn't raining, so I can go for a ride.


Ride out of Vegas to an old mine, and the Colorado River overlook. Take some nice pics of the bike. Roll it around to the blue truck you see in the background. Well the gravel there was loose AF and front end sunk about 2in. Right side dip, desperately hold it and right it only to have the gravel shift and dump it down left.



Am I a fucking moron for trying to go where I did? Ye probably. But in the struggle to keep it up in did no damage to the fairings. I got super lucky. The clutch is bent a tad, and the bar end has a tiny bit of rash. Other than that I escaped 99% unscathed. I was too pissed off when I got home to wipe down the bike and make sure there are zero scratches, but in my 15sec overlook it looks ok. Enjoy the pics and remember folks, it's a sport bike, not a dirt bike

Ouch...... I know all about loose gravel. !! Unfortunately. Brutales don't like it either.

You're allowed to add or make spikes and sharp objects to your bike. But removing a reflector isnt legal... LOL didnt saw that one coming to be honest.

In Netherlands it isnt required... and thats says ALOT. We are required a red reflector on the rear(underneath license plate)pointing towards vehicle behind you. But not the sides of front or rear.
As for turn signal space we have a minimum of 28cm of space inbetween them. Internal blinkers in rear brake light is illegal.

Required or not. That orange slice needs to come off

Not illegal to remove...but must be installed by the manufacturer to be sold in this country. Most people do take them off.

We also have to have a rear reflector, and the integrated turn signals are illegal, too (ask pampalini23 ...he just got a "fix-it" ticket from a motorcycle cop in LA for illegal rear turn signals on his F4....integrated).

The police in the USA, for the most part, don't pay attention to little details like those, and most states have no routine inspection regimen. A few do, and they can get sticky about things like turn signals and registration plate lights etc.....but I don't think anyone looks at the reflectors after the bike leaves the dealership.

Gravel, yeah buddy. You got off light in my opinion. I just don't take my street bikes on gravel. When in high school, in Durango, CO USA about 1971 I was riding my Honda 175 scrambler. Crossing the narrow gauge railroad tracks, I went through gravel. But, the crews had just filled a foot deep pothole between the tracks. Down I went in a flash. Lots of nice rash on me, and a bit on the bike. The good part: of course: the train was coming! This is a steam train, and about 75 yards away. I had a good adrenaline rush, got the bike picked up, but doing that in the gravel hole was not so easy. I was strong back then, and bikes were light, but I burned my hands on the engine. Just a fun time all around. Nobody helped, but lots of lookers.

Gravel is not your friend, mostly. Gravity always wins.
