Swing arm cleaning

Hi, is there any one out the that could tell me the best means of cleaning the swing arm. Cleaned the chain tonight, tooth brush and chain cleaner, and got alittle cleaner on the swing arm. It dried very quickly and went a paler colour than the rest of it. As its matt in colour and a rough casting a damp soapy cloth leaves small litttle bits on it. Any ideas would be great. Many thanks.

I feel your pain. I use a stiff, plastic bristle brush and some soapy water. I usually limit this to the times that I wash the entire bike, otherwise the amount of soap, water and elbow grease to get the singarm clean is hard to muster.
Make sure you rinse it really well, blot it with a lint free towel, and let it drip dry - it will leave a nice even finish.

I use Motorex BikeShine--Cleans instantly, and keeps it clean longer.
