Well if your happy to loose the money and the bike, but have the satisfaction of clubbing the dealer then hats off to you.
You take the remains of the dealer to court and get the money back.

Whatever happened to Caveat Emptor?

Take a chance while you still got the choice.

This happens with all brands of bikes in all countries...just not very often as it is illegal. It is called "Sold out of Trust" in the US and the selling dealer can go to jail and have all his property put in lien.
It is up to the criminal to pay off the debt. Most US dealers have to supply an Irrevocable Lettor of Credit to the OEM to become a dealer to prevent this possibility.

You should most assuredly file a complaint and legal suit against the dealer with the authorities if this has happened to you. The local government will arrest and charge the perpetrators. They have broken the law.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Do you think I find it important enough to remember the names Adam
And how many "others" care about my motorcycle purchase history well-being mate - but don't worry I went to Facebook and Hampshire MV or Motorcycles was one of two pointed out by other Customers and Dealers, hence the problem, people are too lazy to do their own homework but will still badmouth those who will not do it for them as a bonus.

Here's a link to the dumb-arse "fatbook" members with MV's who might be concerned - https://www.facebook.com/groups/mvag...nersandriders/

Fully agree. I don't know about the laws in the UK but I'm guessing the owners will be able to keep their bikes, albeit with a few hoops to jump through to get them registered. I don't see MV taking the bikes away from people who bought them in good faith and what would be the point. Besides the PR nightmare by doing so they are left with essentially "used" bikes. Ultimately, the offending dealers principal owners broke the law and are the ones on the hook with MV. The article said any owner affected should contact them for assistance which sounds like they want to help.
