Fuel Injection Probe Question Please Help

I went to replace the fuel filter inside the tank from my MV Agusta F4 1000 AGO.

When I took the fuel injector pump outside I found the PROBE aluminum piece completely appart from the plastic tube, just hanging by the wires. PLWASE CHECK MY PICS TO SEE THE PROBLEM.

Is that the way suppost to be loose or Has to be attached to the Plastic Pipe?

I would like to know if that's fused together.

Isn't that the thermistor that triggers low fuel light? I suspect it is not supposed to just be dangling. A spot of some gasoline resistant adhesive would be in order, but nothing permanent or you couldn't easily replace if needed.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
