F4 Sport Rider Mag Cover/Back Cover

A recent sport Rider issue (US) featured a 312 doing a wheelie on the front cover. (sorry, can't recall which month). Even more recently, the back inside cover had a photo of the same 312 AFTER the wheelie with what looks like a flat tire, busted forks maybe, other stuff. Anyone know the scoop? Rider error or ...?

No damage or failure, that was just the moment of impact caught by the camera when the front end slammed down hard. You can actually flat spot a rim doing hard wheelies, and some Jap bikes will crack their frames. I have seen radiators sagging up to 25 mm on the upper hangers from the inertia of hard wheelies.

Word of advice: If you can't land it softly don't do it....you go faster with both wheels down anyway.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.
