312 or 910R

advice and help needed

I am intending to purchase either a 312 (pearl white/black) or a 910R (black/gunmetal gray) and I am having serious problems deciding on which to go for.

as I have a F4 EV03 at the moment (which has been decked after 4 years enjoyment, but being rebuilt) I decided to go for the Brutale 910R

then one week later I saw the 312 in pearl white/black and my mind was made up for me there and then to go for the 312. (my wife also loves the 312 which helps)

now a further 2 weeks down the line im thinking about the 910R again, I am hanging off until after the Milan show to see what it brings but cannot decide one way or another which way to go

so folks what do you think 312 or 910R and please do not say both as this is not an option for me

You've got an F4 already. Expand the collection a little by getting the Brutale. You won't be sorry. On tight roads, it's amazing. The 312 comes into its own when things open up, and there aren't many places where it can stretch its legs properly.

From what i can gather, i think your heart is set on the 312R but your rational side is telling you to get the Brutale since you already have and will keep your F4.
In this cases my advice is always to follow your heart or you're always going to regret it or at least think what if....?

You know you want that Pearl/Black 312R BADLY!!!
And since you're wife wants it too, it's a no brainer, really

I agree with esq'z me. Get a pearl and black 910R. Its very awesome. If I had an f4, which I do (312R), I would deffinately keep it and get the Brutale to have the best of both worlds. In fact, that is my goal in the near future. It'll be a matching set.

Easy, get the 312, sell the evo and then buy a 910

A gun is not a weapon. It's a tool, like a butcher's knife, or a harpoon, or an alligator.

the EV03 has been written off although only cosmetic damage and a bit grinding of the frame centre engine mount
being re-built for use as track bike or possibly back on road

the only way of really making cash from it would be to break it for spares, id sooner have it as a track bike

so its back too 312 or 910R????????

guess the logic would be the 910R but after seeing the 312 it stays in my mind

I had the pleasure of riding my dealer's demo Pearl and Black 1000R overnight last Friday. It is a truely beautiful bike so I see why you can't erase the image from your mind. I found it to be very different from my 910R in so many ways. First, it runs much hotter (of course, that beautiful body work helps in this regard, not to mention the under seat pipes). Second, it is a high speed sweeper chassis. Doesn't flick like the Brutale (of course, with clip-ons there is a totally different leverage ratio to blame). It is geared much taller, and I found myself running excessively fast for public roads before I realized it (wind protection has something to do with that).

Bottom line...I wish I could have one for those times when I could use it (track days?), but the crick in my neck (my deteriorating, aging body) and the poor general around town usefulness made me happy to get back on my Brutale.

So the question is>>> how do you plan to use it, where are you going to ride??

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

I think you really need to demo both. The F41000 is a different animal (power delivery-wise) compared to the 750.

+1 on the pearl and black. Pics just don't do justice to that color scheme.

Personally, I'd keep the F-4 for track days and go with the Brute. You've really got to ride the Brute for a while to appreciate it. Then it all comes down to your riding needs and preferences. Once you see what the Brute can do you'll have to factor in the comfort and utility advantages. The Brute is just so much better in town, in the tight stuff... as for pure looks, the F-4 is the top of the pops and better for track as well. But not much for anything but all-out riding. For everyday, real-world riding the Brute is awfully tough to beat. But you MUST ride a Brute and ride it for a long while (long demo, swap rides with a buddy) before you decide. You may be really surprised as to what that bike can do.
