water pump

have a dc water pump on my 910 s and it has started to leak
from the weep hole at the back of the pump question is why its only a year old
replaced engine coolant with engine ice and fitted samco hoses
have put original pump back on no leaks. any suggestions.

Mechanical seal is leaking...possibly just a little contamination, possibly corrosion on the surfaces. Take it apart and clean it.

You might also consider using some stop leak/water pump lubricant.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

looks like the seal behind the impeller have failed no 10/22 on euro 2 or no 23 on euro 3
don't know what seal is in the design corse pump.

That is the "mechanical seal" It is basically a surface seal as opposed to a lip seal like on forks and transmission shafts (and the oil seal for the water pump...#3 in the diagrams).

Corrosion or contamination are the normal culprits if mileage is low. Take it apart and look. Ask Design Corse about replacement parts or maybe even warranty???

maybe right if i was in USA in europe you get ripped off right left and center,
you should see the post prices from italy double what the part costs sick and tired of europe
not the european people in it why, do you think we want out pure extortion.
as long as the part gets fixed not bothered.
