battery and carbon fiber don't mix

this is what happens when a carbon panel comes in contact with the positive terminal of a battery. Take care

Carbon is a very strong conductor. We all sometimes think of them as just another panel, and as they (ABS panels) are non conductors, we get into a habit of not worrying about keeping them clear if hot wires.

I’m glad the bike is okay, it could easily have been a disaster

Bare Carbon is a pure conductor.

George, how did a battery positive terminal contact that panel?

The panel has a rubber insulator inside which aligns with the stock battery. I replaced the battery with a smaller lithium battery and it did not line up with the rubber pad. Did not even think about carbon fiber conducting electricity and as Murphy's law states it went wrong. My painter said he could repair the damage (without using duct tape)
