Disco Volante in Motorcycle Classics january 2014 Issue

Nice article in Motorcycle Classics featuring my friend Barry's CSS. I havent seen the print version yet but here is the online link:

http://www.motorcycleclassics.com/cl...#axzz2pSSxNn4K

Photos of his authentic 1954 MV Agusta 175 CSS, beautifully restored. The photos show it in "as ridden" setup, with a UB carb replacing the original SSI carb (UB series carb being better for everyday use). A dynamo magneto ignition conversion explains why the battery is not present. Other than a few minor things like that, this example makes for very good reference for restoring a Super Sport or other Disco Volante, or when are considering purchasing one.

Hopefully the magazine article has other / more photos.

Happy New Year!
Ivan

nothing to do with bikes

Hi,

Everyone : a very good 2014 in good health.

In a way it has nothing to do with Mv bikes, buth ..... it's beautifull.

Would it be a great to have both in your garage!!!!
A MV disco volante and an Alfa(4c) disco volante.

What is significant about the article in MC Classics is that a milestone has been set. Before this, little reliable reference has been available to collectors about the Disco Volante bikes, in English anyway.

The featured bike is a CSS, but other than the Earles fork, front fender, and a few less obvious details, it is visually the same as a 1954 Sport. Both can be called Disco Volante due to the gas tank.
