Bikers Classic 2013 and I was there

So I was there and waived the mvagusta.net flag in Spa Francorchamps at the Bikers Classics 2013.
To everyone who missed out on it I mst tell You that it was as fantastic as ever.
And this Year without rain drops and sunshine unlimited.
It was as packed as ever in Spa and this not at least by the expanding classes.
We had the GP500, the Superbike and Sidecar parades.
The 4h endurance race, Classic Superbikes, Proclassic races.
And roughly 600 entries in the 6 class series.
I run in series 1 and had a great time.
My bike run almost perfect despite I avoided full throttle on the long full gas sections.
This was related to the newly honed left cylinder with new piston and rings.
I passed a quite a few other riders and got more and more confident.
Some of the 500cc racers in our class are running in another world of course.
Sure enough I still wait for the day I entert he pits with oil free boots.
It seams that the right piston is not seal and so my baby develops pressure in the crank case, pushs the oil out were ever there is a weak spot, including the oil dip stick.
Finally we builded a engine vent out of a hose and an apple juice bottle.
It helped that I could run two to three laps before I had to enter the pits.
Later, with lesser oil spillage, we located the leak at the right cylinders foot gasket.
A point were the casing was welded back in the days and the machining of the casing flange is some what imperfect.
My friend will take the engine apart now and overhaul it completely including refurbishing the crank, the casing joints and re new the right cylinder / piston amongst other things he might finds.
So here are a few photos and I hope You enjoy them.

I will put some more in my album soon. And yes I saw many Kawasaki's there amongst many other makes. It just happened that I had not enough time to browse through the pits and parking areas. Say hello to Your mate!

Chuck that is plain commitment.
And without my friends support impossible.
In all honesty I wished we could have something similar in the US.
It works in Spa (Bikers Classic) and Imola (200 Miglia Revival).
So why can't we have a similar event in The US of A.
Yes there is a Classic race series by AHRMA in the US.
But this is way to professional for all the enthusiast vintage bike owners.
I would not have a glimpse of a chance to be competitive in any of their classes with my MV 350.
Might DG Sport has an idea how we could expand to North America one Day.
