some open questions regarding the 125 sport

Hello I have some questions to our specialists,

does anybody know the diameter of the petcock for a 125 sport?

The only missing thing from my motor is the pickup from the ignition. A shop could provide me a replacement if I know the Ohm Ω of the ignition, maybe you have the specifications of the ignition.

A cable-tree of the 125 sport is existing or available over the MV UK club - or have I make it myself.

cheers

Helmut

Hi Helmut.

I think the fuel tap thread is 10mm diameter.

Ignition pick-ups are very rare for this type of ignition and i have not been able to supply any for a long time. I have measured the one on my own bike and it appears to be approx 65 ohms across the pick-up windings. I can't cross reference this with another as i don't have another! If you do find some that work and fit the existing system i would be very interested.

By 'cable-tree' i assume you mean wiring harness? If so the club can't help as we don't have any...sorry. You could try Hahn Kabeltecnik in Stuttgart as they used to do some MV harnesses www.hahn-kabeltechnik.de

All the best.

Dorian.

Thank you very much Dorian!

I'll keep you updated, if replacement pickup works. Yes of course, I mean the wiring harness - thx for your info - I'll get in contact with this company.

Your new MV arrived already....?

Thumbs up

Aha so you got your hands on a black beast!

I never quite understood why the Count insisted on that particular shape of headlight, tank ank seat though. It's just not elegant and it's so very different from all the other MVs they were making at that time.

Albeit not my cup of tea, a truly iconic MV. And for its age, I bet it goes like stink

Ah, the ugly duckling turned swan without even morphing - amazing. I must confess I've always loved the quirky look of those things!

Well done Dorian - (as usual ) and congratulations.

So, is true when one passes on if they have led a good & pious life they are sent to your garage? What a collection!

The same was said of the brutale headlight, which was inherited from porsche
