Oz Bikes For Sale

Do any of our Aussie (or other) members know anything about the MV 500/4 and/or Egli-Vincent that are listed here: http://www.alexhollandclassiccars.com/
The descriptions and photos suggest first rate builds in the spirit of, if not actually, originals. The asking prices certainly are more in the realm of originals vs replicas.

These bikes have been for sale since last year. Information can be found at http://raresportbikesforsale.com/a-u...v-agusta-5004/ They are also listed here with a reference to Alex Holland http://www.cimaa.asn.au/bikes_for_sale.htm

There was a post on http://groups.yahoo.com/group/MVAgusta_Older_Models/ a while ago about the MV. I think it indicated the bike was in fair condition, was basically a bitsa and was overpriced but I could be wrong. The same may apply to the Vincent.

There are similar bikes for sale in Europe:
http://www.classic-motorbikes.com/ma...Agusta&Lang=en and http://dealer.moto.it/pettinari/

cheers

Many original MV parts?

Would that include the Japanese 4 cylinder engine?

I am a little confused by that - are they trying to say that the engine is (supposedly) a pre - production discontinued MV engine that was later copied by the Japs - or is the copied latter Jap motor?

All I know for $115K , I would want something a tad more substantial than that!

Chain drive on the left?........i don't think so!

I'm no expert on jap engines of the 80's, but from the look of the cases that you can see, especialy the sprocket cover, i would guess Kawasaki or poss Yamaha?

I have seen loads of them done in Italy.

Dorian.

That would make it worthless in my view - well the value that would be 'novelty value' only. $115K geezzzzzzzzzzzzz!

I contacted the seller and after a courteous introductory exchange of e-mails, asked for more detailed photos to assess the cosmetics, info on the builder, build specifics, the usual that would be requested for a potential transaction of this type. His response was to get all huffy and question my "credentials", referring to "tall poppy cutters" and "tire kickers" wasting his time. Then he closed by stating he is looking for an offer in excess of $200k Aussie for the pair!
Methinks he will continue to be the owner for a very long time . . .
