2016 Broadford Videos and pics

The 2016 event was held of the Easter weekend with record entry's and spectator attendance hard to know where to start however it will be a mixture of MV and Moto Guzzi

The disappointing aspect were the issues encountered by the Moto Guzzi entourage from Italy with their magnificent collection of bikes; in particular, the temperamental V8 from 1957

I was fortunate enough over the 3 days to be staying next door to Pino Todero (owner of the V8) and the Italian troops; his father, Umberto, was part of the original design and engineering team that produced the magnificent V8; he was fascinated with our MV build and as the problems mounted with the V8, he greatly appreciated the fact that the MV was there to participate in the parade laps as the V8 did not make the track at all over the weekend.

There was still worse to come as Bill Lomas 350 Championship winning bike, split a crank case (the first serious problem in over 30 years) and ruled it out of any further demo laps

The V8 was started a few times over the weekend however it was not running on all cylinders; the video attached is the best it could muster and Pino confirmed on Sunday night it was only running on 6; they were devastated as the bike was running perfectly prior to their departure to Australia

Cam Donald managed a session on the supercharged 250 and was suitably impressed with the bike and it sounded magnificent

First picture is our parting pic (Pino on the right) second; supercharged 250; 3rd, trying the V8 on for size and a few random of the Gala dinner (great night with the ISDE Aussie Champs presented with their Trophys) will post up the MV vids next

Next video.............the best the V8 could do (6 Cylindres)

https://youtu.be/g3Ev__DMRMc You could only feel for the MG troops as they worked around the clock to try and rectify the problem; they were also incredibly approachable and allowed anyone into the marquee to look at their efforts to get the bike running properly .................

Here is a photo I made of the V8 running at Spa 2010, Julian.
And a shot of the V8 being stationary, but I guess You know that scenario.
Sadly, I can only see a few seconds of Your MV running.
Than the video stalls, hmmm.

Thanks H; great pics and it was unfortunate that we did not hear the bike running on track; there is a video from around 10 years ago where Pino attended a NZ meeting and the bike was on song, will try and find and post up

a collection of images from the weekend. These are mostly Moto Guzzi as the event could easily be described as the Moto Guzzi Festival. There are some of the camping area, car park, race track and the classic race bikes. There were also 3 V8s there on the weekend. The Guzzi, the Drysdale (Australian built) and the new PGM. Hopefully, I'll have some images of other bikes in the next few days (it takes time to get through over 1000 images).

unknown but he was a test rider for Moto Guzzi, Teo Lamers (who organised the classic race bikes to come to Australia), Angelo Balzarotti, Pino Todero (owner of the Guzzi V8), Cam Donald and Antonio Friger. Those mentioned have all been involved with Moto Guzzi for years with some of them racing the classic bikes and doing the Isle of Man TT, albeit many years ago.

The recently released PGM. Not sure the name of this gentleman but he is involved with the bike.

some Moto Guzzi general images from the weekend. Camping was at a premium with anything from mobile homes to a swag.
