350 elettronica locked up

I just put a powerdynamo in the bike and after a year of sitting it fired up first kick. Carbs needed some tuning but the bike ran great and fast
Started it up today and it ran great. Tweaked the air screws and it shut off sounding like it just died from lack of fuel.

Tried kicking it again and it's locked up. Solid. Can't push it or kick it. Pulled the heads and everything looks good. No scratched cylinders. Valves are fine.

It has oil and the oil is still nice and gold.
Could it be the kickstart?

If you do not choose any speed in your gearbox, can you push the bike forward? And can you pushit if you choose for exaple the second gear? Does the engine turn over in this case?

Regards

The engine is locked up. I can roll it in neutral. As soon as it goes into gear it's completely seized.

loose rotor bolt......rotor backed off the crank and locked against the stator

you left the petcock on with a stuck float ......pull the plugs and try kicking it

I'd also revisit the rotor - it is the only thing you touched since the bike wasn't working & you got it going.

If Noel is correct and it is locked against the stator that will be nasty because of the design of the power dynamo which places the a series of magnets on the inside of the rotor cap are likely to have been damaged - hopefully not!

I would look at that before attempting to kick it again.

Let us know get on Alex.

Cheers
Rob

no point in buying another if it isn't necessary

Good Luck

I'm hoping for a stuck float
