Cool Works MV GP 500/3 1970 ...... Recently Sold

.
Hi Guys

This is a recently sold GP500 3 cylinder works bike here in the UK . It's not a replica but the real thing and is absolutely stunning..

Truly an amazing bit of MV racing history..

I thought I'd share with the forum a few pictures taken by the seller dealer.... Pay special attention to the patina of the red insulation tape around various components...

Hope you enjoy them...

We, or at least I, do!
I would have loved to know about the opportunity to buy it earlier.
So for how much did it sell?

Wink One day.........

I had been watching that thing for long time at Made in Italy MC. I had never enquired about the price as whenever I do that one thing leads to another and I finish with the bike - in this case I didn't fancy having to sell my house

I sincerely hope it went to a real MV or GP aficionado as opposed to some (obviously wealthy) collector as trophy to sit a corner somewhere gathering dust.

To quote Xavier "Magnifique !!!" Nothing else to say.

Glad you enjoyed the pics guys...

Ralf... I wasn't privy to the deal, so have no idea of the asking/sale price..

However, if I knew any info you can appreciate the forum wouldn't be the proper place to discuss such matters.. It wouldn't be fair to the seller, dealer or buyer... You know where I coming from..

Rob... I was talking to John Fallon when he mentioned about this GP500.. It's not the sort of bike that fits my wishlist, but even if it was, I doubt I could give its just rewards with regular outings at the various World wide classic events.. A bike like this needs to go to the type of owner that can parade the bike and maintain it..

For anyone who's interested, this bike is still at the showroom until next year....

I know that a few years ago a works MV was for sale at auction with an expected price of 250,000 GBP. I don't think it sold. The value for this particular bike would depend on it's history (ridden by, race wins, world championships etc)
