Curious about Brutale purchases

Just a general question here, but aside from brand cache, what were the main factors that steered you toward a Brutale vs other offerings out there like a Streetfighter, Speed Triple or Tourno

Tuono is a good bike but the look just sucks.

Speedy is somewhat boring.

Streetfighter 1098 is out of production.

Had enough V2s.....

Bad design is for others!

On a 158 hp Brutale you can get a lot more power without changing hardware besides header. Will let you know .

I had been on all of those bikes before I bought my Brutale. It was the responsiveness, power, styling and sound didn't hurt either. Even still the first thing I changed was the pipes and exhaust which sounds incredible and I lost some serious weight from the bike. I've never driven with or seen another one on the road, it's been 3 years and still love it.

All the other marques require some sort of accessorising to get them to how I wanted for looks or sound or function, the MV didn't.
From a mechanics point of view, I reckon the MV is easier to work on too.

I was at the Long Beach motorcycle show a few years back and saw a 910 Brutale on display. Wow! That Brutale was the most beautiful motorcycle I had ever seen. I kept coming back to the MV display and staring at it from every angle. The seed for a future purchase was planted.

Then my long-time friend Balz Renggli (who owns Moto Forza in Escondido, CA) became a MV dealer and let me demo a 990 Brutale. A short time later, I bought a 2010 Brutale 1090. I eventually sold that bike (for reasons not related to the bike) and last year bought my current 2013 1090RR. I have replaced the exhaust and upgraded a few other things on the new bike, but in general the 1090RR has been a very good bike. I am thankful, however, that I have easy access to two competent, dedicated MV dealers (the other one being Pro Italia in LA).

All that said, if the BMW S1000R or KTM Super Duke had been available this time last year, I would have taken a hard look at those two bikes.

Must admit looks were a key driver. Wasn't planning on the RR but the blue/white bike with red frame was pornographic.

Power, especially with MV Corse Titanium 'zorst and Microtec ECU (Grazie mille Chris from X-bikes) does Brutale badge justice. Bike without DB killer sounds more "F1" than "commuter".

Tester (Methinks in Oz) said (something like) "The only bike I have to stare back at when walking away" Oh yes!!

Did I mention the looks?
