Brutale 989R Hub specification

Has a Brutale 989R 2010 model year ( AA ) on the vin number got a 2010 upgraded Hub or a pre 2010 Hub ?

Any advice from you knowledgeable Brutale guys would be very much appreciated .

Looking at the Startwin trading diagrams it seems the 989R does have the 2009 and previous Hub fitted...

Cheers

joe

Joe,looking at Star Twins website, the 989 runs the same rear hub as the 1078,which is the early hub. They offer the upgraded hub for those model Brutale's.

Agree Mitchy,

On a broader base Startwin are offering a upgrade hub across the range and not the weaker 2009 and previous oe Hub. This suggests they have recognised a flaw in the 2009 and previous hub.

Question is have MV stopped supplying the earlier weaker hub completely now as they themselves have recognised this too ?

Joe MV Agusta doesn't produce and stock pre 2010 hubs anymore.
All parts catalogues from the F4 Oro to the F4 / Brutale 1078 are available as updated versions and those include only the new hub.
Just google the part catalogue number and You will find a 2nd or even newer but latest edition.

Legally they offer a better replacement hub as spare part which will fit every model they ever produced.
The only addition You need on older models is a new axle.
The whole thing comes as a conversion kit for older bikes, including axle and the correct spacer for the sprocket / sprocket carrier.
So it is important to obey the part numbers for new hubs in order to receive them with the correct spacers.
Noel I'm debating with me if I should buy one of your hubs as spare for my Brutale.
