Engine longevity/life of 910R?

I've pretty much decided on a bike to replace my aging Ducati S2R 1000.. A 2007 Brutale 910R.

My S2R1k has nearly 56k miles on her and saw regular service along her abused life. My question is… can the Brutie deal with daily commutes and weekend romps without too much issue (beyond regular service)…?

Thanks in advance

All I can say is my own 910R has 23K miles with no mechanical problems. I did just replace the engine coolant sensor as the meter reading had become erratic (I know of 2 others with same sensor malfunction after many years...not a big deal).

I have done the required maintenance using Agip (Eni) 10-60 oil as recommended. Valves have been inspected but have not required adjustments yet.

Very easy to work on (much more so than your Ducati)....I see no reason the engine wouldn't do 1000K with out mechanical problems.

I used to be fast....now I just dream about it.

Ed;
I think you left some zeros out, maybe 2

Lawbreaker;
an Aussie just went 98,000 before an issue came up

with my '08 910R, I'm just behind Ed in mileage @22,500 so far I've burned out 2 low beams an effect of the MicroTec ECU

absolutely nothing has broken or fallen off, it doesn't know what a battery tender is. it uses tires and brake pads, the valve cover weeps ~2 drops a month, it never travels all the way across the head so maybe even less
it rarely even needs chain adjustments

it IS my go to bike....be it the canyons, the market or the Post Office rare is the day that it doesn't get ridden

hands down the best and most fun bike I've ever had

Thanks for the supportive info…..

Baron knows my growing obsession i do believe…

My goal is Brutie before the new year… F4 after.

Brutale is all but sealed. I'll post pics when victorious !

I have both a S2R1K and a 910S in my stable right now. Mine don't have very many miles so I can't comment on longevity, but I just wanted to say that you'll LOVE the MV when you get it. The S2R is great fun, but the Brutale is just another level of excitement entirely. A totally different experience for sure (in a good way). I'm glad to hear that the air cooled Monsters can cover a lot of miles though. My 910 has been trouble free at a whopping 2k miles if that helps at all Good luck with the new bike, I'm sure you'll enjoy it

Ask Col ,his bike has done crap loads of k/m ,still going strong,think he just did a hub not to long ago,My 1078rr just hit 41000km ,only thing i have done is rear hub bearings at 35000km and gear lever spring,cost off spring i think was 20 bucks,all services done at home,now for shorting out my pc5 and race ecu and stuffing up my throttle bodies well all that was self inflicted, uhm, what else can i stuff up.

cheers eddy

Lawbreaker, If you don't already have a Brutale 910R located I will sell you mine, it only has 4,000 miles on it.
