1090RR Front Indicator options

Ok , i might be talking myself into the bar end mirror and headlight braket mounted indicators .

Any pics of any variant actually on the bike would be appreciated, has anyone mounted any stock rear units on the front ?

Also does anyone sell blanking plates for the clamp where the stock mirror mounts .

Thanks in advance .

Steve

Motovation sells a replacement clamp if you remove the OEM mirror. They are a silver finish. I have noticed other site sponsors offer them in multiple colors. I re-used the ones I had from my '06 910 on my '10 990R, so they should fit your bike as we'll, just takes a few minutes to swap them out. You may need a punch if the pins are tight, I did on the 910, but not with the 990. There are a couple other threads with photos of aftermarket signals, just be sure to use LED signals, not incandescent (different resistance).

There is a thread not too far down with a couple of photos and some instructions on drilling your headlight brackets. Note the blue ? on the left. Not sure how to include a link in this message for you.

Oberon makes the blanking plates, if you go for headlamp mounted indicators you will need take care with the resistance even when fitting LEDs you may find you need additional resistors, I have 2 per front indicator.

I ended up with the Melotti signals front and rear. No resistors required. There are wiring connectors available that plug right into the factory connectors, so no cutting and easy to take back to stock if you want to later. Motovation carries the wire connectors.

Design Corse has the Oberon blanking plates for your clutch and brake assemblies available in multiple colors. Search under "mirrors" for your bike.

You shouldn't mount the stock rear signals to the front - they flash red. Red lights on the front of a vehicle is illegal where I live, especially if it's flashing.

You can get bar-end signals like I did. They're fantastically clean looking, bright, and minimal drilling. I didn't have to adjust the resistance.
These also provide a good 360 degree visibility.
