Ferracci ECU with stock exhaust

Hey guys,

Bought my 1090RR and it came with a Ferracci Race ECU. The previous owner had the titanium setup on it, but took it off when he sold the bike. I've been riding it with the stock setup (with actuator unplugged) for a little bit now and it seems fine although for optimal performance id like to toss something better on (that doesn't cost $2500). Is there any damage that could be caused by running that ECU with stockers?

Any recommendations as to what would work well with the Race ECU? Will I have to have this setup tweaked by Ferracci again if I put something different back on? Im in Chicago so sending the bike to PA would be a pain in the ass.

Thanks!

I think you can pick up an inox exhaust for under $1500. If the ECU was already mapped for a sport type pipe, it just might be a bolt on and ride deal. I don't really think you can get anew exhaust cheaper than that for your bike, unless you find something used. I would consider buying the pipe from Ferracci and have them ship it to you . That way if it don't run right, at least you got the part from them and they won't hurt you if you need to send it in to get tuned.

No issues at all. The smell of the exhaust isn't gassy either. I was just wondering about build up occurring on the valves, but it was more of a minor concern.

I would still love to put something more "open" on the bike, but since I have a huge list of other things to buy, I was trying to prioritize

Actually , one thing I started noticing was slight hunting at idle. It will hunt for about 5 - 8 seconds, then idle fine, then hunt again a couple seconds later, between 1000 - 1200. Im coming up on my 7500 mile maintenance so perhaps I can deal with it then?

Yeah, mine did that too. A week after they (FBF )did my exhaust, it was hunting too, but worse. I took it back and they fixed it.

I wish I could afford an Arrow or Termi full system before taking her in for 7500 servicing...I'd rather have the service and installation done at the same time than have them try and tune the stock pipe for the race ecu...
