990rr engine in 989r frame??

hi, i bought a spare engine for my 989r only to find its 990rr engine

my question is will it run off the loom i have or will i need a loom??

I'd be surprised if anyone has done this yet. Its a question of if the 2010+ motors will fit in the pre-2010 chassis. I'd be interested to know the answer to that one as well.

Major changes in electrics and mechanicals in the model changeover, so I would be surprised if it is compatible.

It seems like the microtec for the 989 and the later brutale is the same. Chris at xbikes might know the answer to this one

the 990 rr has different plugs for the injectors,major electricial differences,as,will the motor fit ,I have no idea.

I find it highly unlikely that the 2010 motor would fit unfortunately, anything is possible with enough work and ingenuity!
