Nevermind, I asked the dealer. It was a Service Bulletin. Something to to with the shifter mech.

Question for those who know: Does this issue apply to all 2010 990R's? If so, are dealers the only source for the updated (flat) spring and additional washer required for the update? Does the spring issue apply to any other Brutales or other MV models?
