Pilot Road 3

Just fitted some Pilot road 3's to my 1090, had a long ride today and the bike feels good , hopefully they will also last!

Be interested to know how you get on with these. Need a new set for my 1090 was considering the pilot pures, do you know what the differences are between the two?

Pilot Pure's

Are really light! Amazingly light. I have them on my Duc. Considering them on my Brutale when the time comes.

My friend is on her second pair on her triumph street triple, they're great in the twisties and hold well in the rain. I'm putting them on my Brutie next.

I have both> The PR3's on my K13s are incredible, very confidence inspiring, they have 5k miles currently with at least another 1000 to go. As earlier mentioned, they are very nice in the rain. I have the Power Pures on my Senna 750 which were on the track for BubIII, again an excellent tire that is significantly lighter than the competition, great feel on both the track and on the street, makes the front end steer faster. The first time in my 30+ years of riding that a tire helped me ride better.

I've always had pilot road 2's on my Honda VFR800. This is my daily bike. I get crazy amount of Km's out of this tyre, like 25 000km+. My front is around 30 000kms and is needing replacement soon. Never had an issue with grip in dry or wet. You will not get these sort of Km's out of the pures as they are more sport orientated. Can't comment on the PR3 as I've never used them.

Pilot road are dual or multi compound more stuited to cruising and sport riding. Pures are more of a sport tyre.

PR are great for my daily as its mainly highway riding and the hard center lets me get the most Km's out of them.

For the MV i'd get a sports tyre and would not use the pilot roads.

I have them on both my Duc and KTM
Im about to change the rear on the KTM after 14,600km
The longevity and handling are great - highly recommended

I always considered the Pilot Road as a touring tire for a sport touring bike.

The orig Pilot Powers are a superbike tire. The Pilot Pure is a little more extreme sport tire for track as well as street.

The Pilot Road is a heavier tire, flatter tread and will last longer.

For carving it up (which in my opinion is what an MV is for, NOT touring) the Powers or Pures are my choice.

(I buy the Powers because they just plain work awesome and they are cheaper than some newer style cutting edge superbike tires)
