Rizoma Bars

Looking at making a track only Brutale and I know that a number of Brutale owners have fitted the Monster S4 bars, but has anyone tried to instal the Rizoma Bars as per the attached link: http://www.rizoma.com/en/products-bi...bars-22mm.html

The website doesn't list them for the Brutale, so am I limited to just the S4R bars if I want to swap them over?

If so, what is so unique about the bars on the Brutale.

Can anyone give me the full story here?

I just bought the whole setup of S4R bars, Motovation barends, CRG mirrors, grips, etc.

I think the uniquenes of the MV bars is only the internal diameter. I was forced to get new, different sized barends.

Do you mind me asking how much you paid for the setup less the mirrors, as I hope I wont need those on the track!

Just that the S4R bars seem real expensive when compared to the Rizoma's.

Sure...The actual bars were bought from a dealership that just took on Ducati, since the other one in town closed up. They got a ton of their parts along with the motorcycle inventory. There was Monster S4R bars in this inventory and they wanted to get rid of them. I happened to be at the right place at the right time, it seems. Retail is $210 I think for them, I paid $106, which was what they told me actual cost was. Then I went to www.motovationusa.com and got their weighted barends which work with or without barend mirrors. Those were $89.99. For track only, you could get any cheap barends I would think. The Ducati bars have a much smaller inner diameter, so make sure you get the correct sized barends. Superbike grips, $8.00!

Oh, by the way, I seem to remember a set of used Monster bars for sale on eBay...I think they were $100. Check there.

Dave - I do like the idea of having a track-only Brute, have you investigated the feasibility of moving to clip-ons for the Brute?

Haven't really looked into that as an option although I did notice that Rizoma do a set of adjustable clip ons for the Ducati S4R I think.

Looking forward to getting to work on the bike which I hope to pick up next week. Will post pics etc of progress as and when.

All the best

If they've got clip-ons for the Monster then they'll be damn close for the Brute. I've been wanting a dedicated track-bike for a year or so....but professional circumstances have set me back about 12months ...anyway, if I have to purchase another tin-top (for work), then I wont be buying the track-bike...I'll convert the Brute into that and will avidly follow your progress

Cheers

Thumbs up bars?

Dave;
the only thing unique about the Brutale bars is where they drill the holes for the M/C, throttle and switch pins.....

check out Renthal products;

i was going to turn my Aprilia RSVR into a faired Tuono......they had the perfect bars....
